2. Information we collect
We only collect information necessary for the purposes described below.

We do not collect any sensitive information (health, ethnic origin, political opinions, etc.).
3. Use and retention
Your information is kept only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:
- Consultation requests: up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted or anonymized.
- Resource sign-ups (guide, newsletter): until unsubscribe, plus 30 days of logging.
- Technical logs: 90 days maximum.
4. Recipients and sub-processors
Your data may be processed by trusted sub-processors, strictly as needed to deliver the service:
- Netlify (hosting and form handling) — data processed in the United States.
- [Email service provider, e.g. Brevo / MailerLite] — delivery of resources and transactional emails.
- [Analytics tool, e.g. Plausible] — anonymous audience measurement.
No data is ever sold, rented or exchanged with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Transfers outside Quebec
Some sub-processors (notably Netlify) operate outside Quebec. In accordance with Law 25, we assess the level of protection offered by these jurisdictions and govern such transfers through appropriate contractual clauses. You can request the details of these assessments by contacting us.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
On your first visit, a banner offers an explicit choice. We distinguish between:
Essential cookies (always active)
- Remembering your cookie preference (localStorage).
- Form submission security.
Measurement cookies (only active after consent)
- Aggregated, anonymized audience statistics (no advertising identifier, no profiling).
You can change your choice at any time by clearing your site data in your browser, or by contacting us.
7. Your rights
Under Law 25, you have the following rights, which you can exercise by emailing vieprivee@parlefrancais.ca:
- Access: obtain a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Rectification: correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion (right to erasure): request the deletion of your data once the purpose has been fulfilled.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used technological format.
- Withdrawal of consent: at any time, without justification.
- Complaint to Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information: www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.
We will respond to your request within a maximum of 30 days.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: HTTPS encryption (TLS 1.2+), strict security headers (CSP, HSTS), restricted access to data, regular access reviews, incident logging. In the event of a privacy incident presenting a serious risk of harm, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the affected individuals, in accordance with Law 25.
9. Minors
The site is aimed at professionals; we do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 14 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
This policy may evolve to reflect our practices or the legal framework. The last-updated date is displayed at the top of this document. In the event of substantial changes, we will notify you by email or via the site.
